A delegation from Uzbekistan's Mahalla Association conducted a visit and exchange program in Guizhou province from May 18 to 22, focusing on inspections and experience sharing in areas such as rural revitalization, grassroots governance, and ecological development.

The delegation first visited Longjing village of Guiyang, the provincial capital. "This place not only preserves the cultural characteristics of traditional villages but also allows villagers to share in the fruits of development," a delegation member said while expressing interest in Longjing's residential environment management and rural industry development.

The Mahalla is a traditional grassroots community self-governance unit in Uzbekistan, equivalent to neighborhood or community self-governance organizations elsewhere. It plays an important role in local grassroots social governance, community services, and neighborly assistance.

The activities were conducted under the "B.R.I.D.G.E" international exchange program created by Foreign Affairs office of Guizhou Province. The program's core philosophy is based on "Bond, Respect, Inclusive, Diversity, Guizhou, Exchange". It invites foreign local government officials, young representatives, experts, and scholars to visit Guizhou, engaging in on-site visits and experience sharing in areas such as green development, rural revitalization, and cultural exchange.
