On June 14, the 2026 Guiyang Marathon kicked off in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, with 25,000 runners from home and abroad participating. Thanks to Guiyang's cool summer climate and mountainous course, the event has become one of the most popular marathons in China.

As a World Athletics Elite Label Road Race and China Athletics Association A-class certified event, the marathon received applications from 182,570 runners from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China, as well as from 27 countries and regions worldwide, who competed for 10,000 full marathon spots and 15,000 half marathon spots.

Along the race route were carefully arranged performances and stations for fans to cheer runners on, creating a lively atmosphere that allowed every runner to experience the city's rich culture and friendly locals.
